Ooooo! Ooooo! Ooooo!

Page... err... 6! Yes!

How exciting

I think this page should be dedicated to a discussion of the best pasta shapes out there.

Personally I'm going to have to go with Penne. It's simple, straight forward and doesn't take long to cook.

Second place would probably be Ravioli, because you can get some wonderful fillings!

And bacon (if you're a carnivore obviously) you can not have macaroni cheese without bacon. And onion, that's pretty much a given as well...

Tagliatelli is where it's at! It's certainly far superior to the more dubious types of pasta available.

I'm going to have to agree with the tagliatelli camp for the 'plain' types. However, it's not as simple as that, is it? In terms of filled pasta, it's a close run thing between tortellini and canelloni, and I'm not sure I can make that decision yet.

Is there any way in which we can help you resolve this tricky issue? By, for example, helping you to sample each type?

Favourite pizza? Four cheese for me...

Yes. Yes, I think a group of DDOers helping me sample each kind of pasta would be a very pleasant experience, and a helpful one.

I think four cheese pizza is excellent, but spninach on a pizza is also good. As is mushroom, sundreied tomato, and pine nuts, and onion, and... I don't think I can decide.

Wholemeal pizza base is excellent though.

Only once back at Uni. I don't really have many memories of hte pizza itself, but I do remember my shirt ended up covered in grease cause there was so much of it that it had soaked through the box and onto me without me realising...

There's a great pizza place near me that does a thai green curry pizza! They used to do a duck pancake one, and a fajhita pizza as well, but unfortunately they've been discontinued...

So in an effort to helping Kelly decide on a pasta type, should we make sure we go and have pasta at the cafbatfest?

i once saw a man eat the 'Lucky's Special Pizza'. consisting of; a deep-pan base, meat-feast-syle toppings, ANOTHER layer of cheese, donner meat, lamb tikka and chicken tikka. there may have been another layer of cheese, i cant remember (successfully blocked out the trauma of watching him eat it). when you get to that level of grease, what difference does another layer of cheese make? i ask you!

wont somebody think of the children?

I don't know, I quite like the idea of Caffled Battle.

Hmmm... okay, there's no such thing as a caffle. There is however a Coffle which is a gang of slaves, so that would make it a gang of slaved battles.

Maybe that doesn't work so well...

Yay! Longest thread ever! Congratulations everyone
