Oooood was bold enough to comment:

Weekend would prob be easier for all us working types as well, but whatever really. I like the idea of everyone booking into a random B&B and just taking it over.
TDDO HQ.

Wow! That'd be great! We could have a War Room and everything, with charts on the wall, and little flashing lights!

Malcolm was bold enough to comment:

Or maybe it should be abbreviated to Bafcatfest 05 - what do you think?

I think that might warrant commemorative badges...

I'm from Bradford. Definitely attractions are needed and that probably means that it won't be held in Bradford. We seem to span the entire length and bredth of the UK, which is good isn't it!

OK all we need is a place and a time. I'd suggest at least 2 months from now to give enough time to make arrangments. Last weekend in Sept/1st in Oct?
And the place. Well, anywhere central-ish with good transport links is grand with me.

Can't make the last weekend in September, so please please please not that weekend! 1st in October should be fine, I think.

(LangeNU - Australia and Locodanny - LA. You're more than welcome to stay at my place for a week or 2 fellas!)

Actually, I'll be back in New York on August 17th. But I don't think there will be any more overseas travelling this year. I have to start saving money, and not spending money I don't even have. But count me in for bafcatfest 2006 (especially if its in the summer and could coincide with a trip to Austria and the Alps that I want to take).

1st of Oct is a mate's birthday, but if its a weekender I could try join in on Sunday. Otherwise I wish I was there and have a baaaaaaawwwwl!

Will it still be called BafCatFest. At least then I will have contributed in some permanent way to the day.

From my limited experience of these types of things, you do realise we're probably all going to end up being called our forum names rather than our real names, despite everyone's best intentions?

Last Blackpool Somethingawful meet, we even had a J2XC and a Dr. Meths in attendance (though we ended up just settling on 'Meths'). I think we're all at least pronouncable...

So: last round of ideas for a venue before we pool the suggestions and take a vote?

Hehe, well you're all welcome to call me Spanners. Demian has been for the past coupla years and he's my brother!
OK I vote Birmingham because it's central, has good transport, has lots of cool stuff to do and there are 2 TDDOrgers here with cars. But equally i am happy to travel if I get out-voted

Couple of years? Do you even remember the Dairylea Fusewire Embargo?

We were rockin' it as MC Spanners McFly and the DFE back in the early 90's

Well yeah but it's only been since the advent of the forum that my real name has been lost to the wardrobe of time

Back when I was 15 I built a pirate radio station in my bedroom (thanks to a radio transmitter I found in the local fancy goods store and was able to 'enhance') and me and Demian used to do shows whenever he came round. Damn they were abstract. I seem to remember doing an entire show from up a stepladder. And a feature we did rating celebrity chins. Hmm.

Ooh and did I mention that Birmingham has Cadbury World?

Misshapes, mistakes, misfits. Raised on a diet of broken biscuits.

Kelly and I once had a whole political manifesto based on the misshape...

Excellent! That sounds like a first-class location for such an event. We could meet on the Saturday afternoon/evening, with a Cadbury World event on the Sunday so that there's a chance of Malley making it?

OOOh, I'm excited!

No, I'm afraid I can't - it's just a rumour.

But I urge you to believe it nonetheless. Absorb the words into your heart and benefit from the positive energy that they will inject into every area of your life. Feel the wonder of sisterhood, passed down through the ages, and spread through this chain of good luck, via the magic of email!!!!!!

If you send this on to ten of your friends, you will be blessed with luck and success that you have only ever dreamed of!!!!!! Send it now, to ten people you care about, and wait for the AMAZING results!!!!

Mr. Isaac Throttlewobbler of Kentucky forwarded it to ten of his friends, and within TWO DAYS a person had offered to make him a cup of tea!!!!!!! Esmirelda Personificus of Hobart sent it to everyone in her address book, and has not been run over by ANY farm machinery ever since!!!!!!!

Do it NOW!!!!!

Or you'll be killed by a fridge.

Anyway, though - I feel I may have diverted us off-topic with my talk to fridges. Back to the subject in question - who else votes for Cadbury World?

Excuse me for mentioning it, but can I interest you in a panoramic print of York - http://www.panoramicyork.co.uk ? No? Oh well - just thought I'd ask.

Sure, sounds like a plan. Guess it's be down to Spanners to do the scouting out of cheap B&Bs then. Are we going to attempt to be organised enough to go for a bulk booking discount, or is that pushing it a bit?

Cadbury World is fun but beware Cardabra!

I have a photo of me looking terified sitting in a tiny car with flesh eating coco beans vieing to eat my eyeballs.
