OK so everyone has seen the Oracle of Bacon which is undisputedly mighty. But has anyone played Wiki-Bacon yet? Simple really - go to Wikipedia, grab two unconnected items and see how many steps it takes to get from one to the other using only the automatically linked keywords.
Just took me 12 jumps to get from 'Evolution' to 'cheese'. There's a shiny 20p for anyone who can beat that

Oh come on, you're not even trying!

Evolution -> Protein -> Casein -> Rennet -> Cheese!

That's five, right there baby!

How about a nice simple one, like turning water into wine? I reckon I can do it in five again...

EDIT: Yep, Water -> France -> French Culture -> French cuisine -> Wine

Evolution -> Bacteria -> Biotechnology -> Cheese
Thanks to the ancient Chinese and their wacky germs

Couldn't beat 5 yet for the water to wine one, though.

Water -> Human -> Thirst -> Alcoholic Beverage -> Wine

How about 'Dr Seuss' and 'Induction Motor'?

Ooh beaten hands down on 2 counts. I went right round the houses through biology, via bacteria, taking a left by grapes, coming up through France and popping through the doorway of brie. But what a ride!

OK I've got
Dr Seuss -> 1927 -> American Institute of Electrical Engineers -> Thomas Edison -> Sprague Electric Railway & Motor Company -> Electric Motor (same page as induction motor)

Water -> South Africa -> Wine
Bonus!

Good water to wine transformation Spanners!

I've got to say though:
Dr Seuss -> General Electric -> Electric Motor

It almost suggests there must be a one page link between evolution and cheese...

Arghhh!

I just realised that every challenge can be played two ways around, that just because Dr Seuss links to 1927 doesn't mean 1927 links to Dr Seuss. So I started with:
Cheese -> Mammals

Now EVERY PAGE I go to mentions Evolution (usually multiple times), but none of them actually link to it

Try working from the other end - go to Evolution and click 'What Links Here'

When did it become the 'Commonwealth' BPTC? When I was there (and came 4th!) it was the World BPTC.

Oh, and CBPTC --> England --> Kingdom of England --> Joan of Ark!

Apparently it was first started surrounding the Commonwealth games in 2002 (you didn't actually read the wikipedia page, did you?). So really the question was when did it become World...

Rats, I did CBPTC --> England --> France --> History of France --> Joan of Ark. So close...

Hmmm... Rameses the Great -> Turkey -> Black Sea -> Redox (cunningly hidden under oxidation).

That was quite a good one. Ummm...
