What a superb thread!

What are all the places you've lived in?

Ipswich, Felixstowe, Birmingham, London

What's your job/jobs/occupations/pastimes at the moment?

I work for Siemens Media Systems as a Technology Consultant on the BBC account
I specialise in TV and Radio production systems so most of the time I'm designing and building the systems that are used to make and play out TV and Radio.

Have you got a degree/O-Levels/A-Levels/GCSEs/NVQs/anything else? What in?
I did AI and Computer Science and Birmingham exactly the same as our very own Spanners and Ooood.
Bizarely when I started the course I didn't own a PC and had no idea how they worked short of switching one on, but did it because I was advised that computers was the thing to do to get a job. Upon leaving the course I wasn't much the wiser, but still managed to pass somehow.
I kind of wished that I'd gone with my heart and done a joint honours in Psychology and Philosophy, or Physics (I know I'm weird)

What's the best job you've ever had?

It sounds like it would be the worst, but I spent a summer working on the show beds of a seed merchants which entailed digging out in the sun for 8 hours a day, but I must say it was bloody marvelous, listened to my headphones, got really fit and got a great tan and really enjoyed switching my mind off and working with my hands.
I once applied for the job of driving the ride on lawn mower in my local park and I still reget no getting it to this day.

What's the worst job you've ever had?

Working as a waiter in a resturant that was crap, over priced and going down the tubes. Everyone was angry all the time, but it did teach me the value of the phrase "Someone who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter is not a nice person"

What's your favourite type of...

...pie/pasty?

A traditional Wigan meat and potato pie

...fruit juice?

Orange

...animal?

I'm alergic to fluffy creatures, but I do love me a Lemur

...beer?

Draft Ale Adnams, or Green King for a taste of home.
Bottled Ale: Badger Golden Glory
Lager: Cobra, Budvar, Leffee, Tsingtao

...weather?

Lovely sunshine and clear skys.

Where do you fancy going to in the next few years?

Margarita
Dominican Republic (again cos it was great)
Barcelona
Iceland

What are some of the more improbable things you've done in the last few years?

Supported Roots Manuva (I felt like the whitest man in the world)
Joined a band on the drums when I couldn't actually play the drums.
Showed Michael Buerk how to use a fax machine

Tea or coffee?

Tea all the way

Do you own any hats?

I have a lovely grey/blue trilby with a ribon that I bought for my holidays and I also have a rather spiffing brown and cream wooly hat.

If your life was a movie, what would it be called?

Farfignugen - THE MOVIE!

How to remember things...

At work I have a notebook, at home I just forget things

The most useful thing you regularly carry around...

A credit card bottle opener that Spanners got me for my birthday a while back and my monkey keyring which cheers me up when I feel gloomy.
Ooo and me iRiver H340

If you could, would you?

On past experience I would meticulously plan it, but then not actually do it.

Favourite pizza?

Anything really spicy and deep pan with loads of meat, but not stuffed crust.

Best newsreader?

A tei between the mighty Trev McD and John Craven

Swings, slides or roundabouts?

Swings for hours then jumping off and hurting yourself.

Fate or karma?

Neither have a place in my life I like rationalism, scepticism and logic.

Happy in your current job? If not what are you looking for?

I like it at times, but it does my head in at times. I would really like somthing where I could work from home so I could move somewhere nice and not have to comute.

Flying or scuba diving?

I'd like to do a parachute jump, but either sounds good if you're offering

If you were a superhero what would your name be?

Exposition Man

And what would your super power be?

When captured the power to make my arch nemesis spontaniously tell me all the details of his master plan in great detail (including its fatal weakness) rather than just killing me there and then and then walk off leaving his incompetant henchment to kill me in an overly elaborate way.

I'd also have the power that if I broke into song in the style of a musical everyone arround me would join in singing and do a dance routine and then afterwoulds just carry on as they were before without saying a word.

Which celebrity do you secretly lust after?
It's to secret, but I have a slight obsession with the character Emma Peel from the initial avengers series.

Any pets?

I don't really belive in pets

Worst ever haircut?

The missus would say the crazy curly mop thing I'm sporting on the photo love story thread though I did briefly have somthing a bit mullety in the 80's

Do you have any siblings?

Two older sisters 8 and 10 years older, it was lke having 3 mums.

How old were you when you left home?

18

What do you remember about school?

Bunking off loads, being a bit of a cheeky scamp, being told I'd fail if I didn't pull my act togather and then getting good marks anyway, feeling let down that the comprehensive system failed everyone who wasn't average and being desperate to leave.
