Firefox is beginning to get on my rag. It takes about 10 seconds to load now. I suspect that it's all the security updates it loads as I noticed this with V1.5 - each time you installed it over itself the load time decreased. It also locks up with large pages, but reviews seem to state that this has been halted now (for javascript sites). Don't know whether to install it or not. I guess that I'll install it side by side with FF2 and test it out a bit.

Is it going to be less processor-hungry than the version 2? I keep having to kill it when it decides to use 99% of my CPU to do absolutely nothing!

I do find mine does crash rather more than I would like.
There are quite a few optimisations you can do to sort out the performance.
Get Fasterfox or if you are on Linux use swiftfox instead it's Firefox optimised for your hardware.
