| First off, here's the call to arms which started a lot of this off:
For those who don't know, 'Anonymous' is the name taken by members of 4chan, and other splinter sites, when waging internet wars, much safer than having individual identities which are much easier to trace / prosecute.
Here's a summary of most of the work done so far:
The main organising site can sometimes be found here:
Although $cientology are hacking and DDOSing back as fast as they're being hacked and DDOS'd, so it's up and down like a yo-yo.
Anonymous press release:
Letter to Anonymous from CoS survivors:
Coups so far:
Most phone and fax lines down. Several smaller websites down. Main website ($cientology.org) still up but only a snapshot version - none of the forms etc are interactive.
http://www.zshare.net/download/6818368a43ef18 <- complete set of 'secret' documents, which $cientology tries to hide from the lower level members, and charges vast amounts of money for.
Many reports in mainstream news media, including Fox News, NBC, etc.
Picketing of every $cientology scentre worldwide, organised for 10th Feb.
The site which was shielding $cientology.org from DDOS attacks withdrew their protection once they were threatened with having their defence of the CoS publicised.
CoS offered $5k rewards for the names of anyone involved. We now have entire teams of Anonymouses filing hundreds of fake reports to make it impossible to locvate the real reports.
All law firms acting for the CoS being treated to many of the delights listed above!
Other useful sites:
www.xenu.net <- point people here if they need to know more about $cientology and it's evils.
http://theunfunnytruth.ytmnd.com/ <- YTMND site summarising the worst crimes they've committed so far
http://www.xenu.net/archive/media/time910605.html <- Time magazine exposes the truth about CoS.
Specifics of some of the naughtiness the CoS have pulled off:
Dictionary of $cientology terms:
http://www.faqs.org/faqs/$cientology/dictionary <- change the $ to an s, thedaddy.org has a word filter in place.
Anyway, all of the above is just the tip of the iceberg, this is the biggest mass action I've ever seen undertaken on the internet. The encyclopaediadramatica link above is a good jumping-off point to find more info / links.
Before taking any actions yourself, bear in mind that
a) There are plenty of things you can usefully do without breaking any laws, e.g. stickers, posters, flyers, spreading the word generally.
b) Do not post here about any illegal activities you may or may not be considering.
c) TheDaddy.org does not condine criminal activities (such as hacking and DDOS attacks) in any way, shape or form.
d) even if you don't want to get involved, grab some popcorn and sit back to watch the sparks fly, this should be epic
