Apologies in advance for my shaky camerawork!

Moss Side / Rusholme, Manchester, taken this morning:

Dawn over the building works at what used to be Maine Road football stadium

Lake in Platt Fields Park

Platt Fields Park again. I just liked the wall.

I found a BMX track I never knew existed!

Church on Platt Lane

Creepy skyline with vultures, Moss Side / Rusholme border. Quite pleased how this came out

Edit: Also, click the banner at the bottom of the page to see Malcolm's amazing work.

A (composite) photo I took of the back garden a couple of nights ago. You can see Orion rising over the house and Taurus towards the top of the picture:

Doesn't seem to be working for me.
If you want to mail me the picture I'll host it and put it up for you.

Dawn over Alexandra Park, Moss Side:

Good question there, not entirely sure of the answer myself. It's partly because I lost a ton of weight recently which has cured me of sleep apnoea - I used to need around 10 hours sleep just to feel half dead. Now I'm adjusting to needing a normal amount of sleep and I've kind of gone the other way :/ 6 hours kip and I feel ten times better than I ever did on 10 with apnoea.

Also, I'm currently struggling a lot with nicotine addiciotn after several minor relapses, and I find it a hell of a lot easier not to smoke in the morning than the evening, so for the last few days I've been deliberately going to sleep very early and getting up correspondingly early.

I've also just discovered that getting up really early so you can do something fun before work means getting up isn't just about work anymore, and is therefore about 3070% less depressing.

Finally, I've got a new camera and dawns look cool

Wow, that creepy skyline picture is fantastic!

Here's a few I've taken over the last year or so. Meant to take some today especially (particularly as there was snow around) but I forgot my camera...

The bank of the River Ouse, next to Lendal Bridge, in autumn:

An old disused pub, by Skeldergate Bridge, in the floods:

The Eye of York (with the Castle Museum behind it), just before Christmas last year when the ice rink was set up:

Some more pics of York, taken on Saturday morning.

Hull Road Park, at the end of my street:

A bit of ruin in the Museum Gardens:

One of my very favourite views of the city, the Minster as seen from the corner of St Leonard's Place:

^^ If it wasn't for the cars that could be Ye Olde London Towne.

A couple from local churches:

Terribly framed, I know, but there was no way to stand further back
