OK number two is far too cryptic for my little mind. Any luck out there?

Completely stumped on number 2 here.

What I've tried [at least, what I can remember]: [[333, 323, 111, a2a]]

Anyone get it yet?

I cheated slightly and brute forced it... Still not sure how to work it out, though...

Scratch that, I think you're supposed to brute force it. Later questions ask about answers to questions that you haven't answered yet... (if that makes sense)...

I tried wgetting the entire site, and it gave me everything except the actual pages. Which is a bit odd, I shall have to re-examine my settings, unless Mr Cooijmans has been very clever indeed.

But if you do have to just brute force the beast, there are only 46640 possible combinations! :D

Assuming the later pages all follow the 3 character model that is...

They don't, but there's enough clues on each page to make the job a lot easier...

The page is:

[[ g2g.html ]]

I would post the full link, but it seems to refuse to do as it's told and be hidden

Alright, got to 5 now, but after trying every possible letter and number to fit in here:
[[_2sv72.html]] im stumped.
Did I just miss one letter somewhere and get really unlucky that it was the exact one I needed or am I missing something else?

Anyone else got this far along?

Yeah, It's a git... The only clue I can give is [[ You might want to go back and look at <4> again...]].
And if you're hating that one, <6> doesn't actually make any sense! It's impossible to answer... grrr...

hidden for spoilers
[[ So 4 says that the second character to move from 5 to 6 is 's', but the second line in 5 is 1+1 which is 2 (unless its 11),but the letter after that is 's' so are we to assume that at we skip the first question (1st char from 7 to 8) so that the second character we actually type is the s as we said it would be in 4?
Make any sense to anyone?
Ideas def. welcome

Ah yes the touble is the way browsers prioritise tags. If you put the url tag inside the hidden tag then you should be able to post a hidden link.

I need to be spending some time on this challenge, it's all very intellectual.

[[ Close, try adding the 's' in as the second letter, before the answer to 1+1... ]]

Link no longer seems to work for me... but then it was posted over three years ago! Is anyone else still able to view it?

The new link to the website is http://paulcooijmans.lunarpages.com/
All of the tests on the site are now hidden and costs a fee. Luckily, the test hasn't changed since its creation in 2001.

<3> is hidden below
[[
<3>

What's the first character you typed to go from <1> to <2>?

What's the second character you typed to go from <2> to <3>?

What's the third character you'll type to successfully go to <4> from here?

90 - 7 = ?

z y x w v u t s r ?

a c b d c e d ? ?
]]

For the first question I think the answer is r
For the second question I think the answer is 2
I believe the third solution is based on the questions asked below it:
83
q
fe

I found something interesting when I turned the letters into their corresponding place in the alphabet:
q turns to 17
fe turns to 65 (f is the 6th letter and e is the 5th letter)

Which then turns into:
83
17
65

The sum of the two bottom numbers is 82, which is 1 less than the top number. This is quite interesting.

The COLT is a fun, challenging test of logic and reason.

Here's the official description of the test below:

The tag on top of each page gives your score; you always know where you stand. Then follow problems. Type on the browser URL line after /tests/colt/ the solutions in their respective order, followed by .html. Lower case letters. After thus answering all questions on a page, hit enter to know if your answers are right; if one or more aren't, you get a Page Not Found message. Use back button of browser and try again. If all are right, a new page appears, reporting your current score in the tag on top.

Where's Dregan when you need him? He was good at this sort of thing. Failing that, I'm nominating General as 'Forum geek most likely to figure out what the hell is going on with this puzzle'....
